Ronald Joseph DeFeo Jr. (September 26, 1951 – March 12, 2021) was a convicted American mass murderer responsible for the 1974 killings of his father, mother, two brothers, and two sisters in Amityville, New York. He was sentenced to six counts of 25 years to life and passed away in prison on March 12, 2021. The horrific events surrounding the killings inspired the famous book and film adaptations of The Amityville Horror.
